Every fairy tale has a beginning. But let's go from the other end. What do people usually think of Borderlands? That's right, a sort of Diablo clone, but with a first-person view, a futuristic setting and an endless "grind." And again - in vain! Because under this wrapper are hidden chic characters, megaton of a kind of (and quite a bit chernushnogo) humor and a very badly worked out world. Therefore, the appearance of a game that is different in mechanics from the notorious "Borda", but based on the same universe, is actually cool, if only for the reason that now people who can not stand monotonous running and shooting can also be attached to this wonderful world. Against the backdrop of recent projects Telltale Tales from The Borderlands stands out as a frivolous disposition. We have finally a comic adventure thriller about people caught up in a very delicate situation. On the plot there is no sense to say, because it will be pure water spoilers. Let's just say that the action of the game takes its start some time after the final of Borderlands 2. Handsome Jack is dead, in Hyperion, the mess, Vault seekers scattered in all directions - all as always, the end of one adventure smoothly flows to the beginning of a new one. The history is written by the winners. But about the characters to catch the word is definitely. If only because this time we have a story told by two voices, moreover very different. First of all, Reese is an employee of Hyperion Corporation, well-groomed, smooth, confidently stepping up the career ladder, until things get really bad. And now he and his best friend are trying to fix it. Secondly, there is Fiona - a professional thief, working with her sister and spiritual mentor; she had one of those affairs that she called the last. Well and further you understand, that all will go awry, but hardly you represent how. The charm of the plot lies in the fact that the characters throughout the history are met, then divided again, and the narrative constantly jumps from one to the other, giving a chance to evaluate what is happening from different angles. And of course, like any narrator, they constantly inculcate and embellish their stories, and also regularly argue about which one is right. With humor, Tales from The Borderlands is also in perfect order. The happening is comical, but at the same time it is kept from slipping into a form of farce and absurdity, and at certain moments even sad notes appear. And if someone had concerns about the recognizability of Borderlands, then we hasten to dispel all fears and doubts - all branded elements, from music to the interface details, suffice. The references and familiar characters are not that many, but they are and perfectly fit into the narrative: the main cameo in the first episode and in general one of the main characters of Borderlands 2 - talking exclusively with hockey and smiley ninja Zer0. And the traditional saver with the car and the skagen came out even better than the The Pre-Sequel. A small big step. There is an opinion that Telltale does not so much games as "kintso", which you can watch almost on all conceivable platforms, from mobile phones and to consoles of a new generation. Well, the next creation of the company is not to say that it is far from this. Yes, the gameplay was practically not brought here, and mostly the players have to watch, and not participate, but then everyone decides for himself whether he likes this approach or not. We now - quite like it, especially when something really interesting is happening on the screen: the characters stick to non-standard situations and originally come out of them. It is worth noting that for some time the results of some adopted decisions can be felt immediately, in the same episode. Although the old engine and a small budget, of course, make themselves felt - the dynamic scenes of shootings and chases are clearly not enough work, and they look poor. But this is almost the only reason to find fault with, so to speak, the "pilot" of the new igroserial. Otherwise, it's pure water of joy, especially for Borderlands fans. The first series of Tales from The Borderlands is a perfect example of the fact that if Borderlands is removed from the not-loved by many "grind", then you can get a great game. And if the whole season lasts at least at a similar level, it will be a holiday on the street of all the inhabitants of Pandora. And for the rest - an excellent opportunity to join this very distinctive and expressive universe!
