The game takes place in the parallel world created by Albert Einstein in 1971-1972, continuing the storyline of the Allies from the original Red Alert. As in its predecessor, the opposing sides in the game are the Soviet Union and the Allies, in addition, some units and structures are identical to the original of the first Red Alert, and some - have changed (so, the mammoth tank was turned into a tank "Apocalypse"). Compared with the previous series, the game improved graphics and multiplayer. While the first game in the Red Alert series is logically connected with the history of the Command & Conquer: Tiberian Series (for example, the head of NOD Kane in her advises Stalin), Red Alert 2 does not contain any references to the Tiberium canon and more resembles the actual "cold war "between the eastern and western military-political blocs, which grew into the Third World War.
