Mass Effect 1 has no Ambient Oclusion for its graphical settings, but if you have a video card that can generate Ambient Oclusion in the game it changes how the game looks and it looks better if the video card can generate Ambient Oclusion in the game .
The old one looks alright too, looks better with Ambient Oclusion in it, it's still a cute game even today, though its game maps could have been just a bit more creative and it could have been a better game if they would have made two or three maps more in it for the main quests .

Yeah, it looks like my video procesor can make some ambient occlusion in the older Mass Effect 1 and it looks better and cool though it is not really like the ambient occlusion the game would have built in it from its development, it is just something that the video procesor can make in it.
The older Mass Effect 1 looks very cool even today, its texturing looks old, but it looks like a very cool game .

The Legendary remake of Mass Effect comes now with ambient occlusion built in it from its development and they also made some improvements in texturing .

It looks like the nasty popping in it is actually a vertical synk problem, the vertical sync from the game settings is not good enough, but if I turn also the vertical sync from my video procesor it actually makes the bad popping to stop, so yeah if I turn vertical sync from my video procesor then the bad popping stops .
So vertical sync and ambiet occlusion can be turned on from the video card to make the game look a bit better .
